OpenAI's ChatGPT emerged as the most visited Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool worldwide in June 2026, recording an impressive 5.3 billion website visits. This figure notably exceeds the total visits of the next 14 top AI platforms combined, which collectively garnered 4.7 billion visits.
Dominance of US-Based AI Platforms
According to data from AITools.xyz, which analyzed web traffic modeled from SEMrush and Ahrefs, 12 of the 15 leading AI tools are headquartered in the United States. The ranking focuses solely on website visits, excluding mobile app and API usage.
Top AI Platforms by Monthly Visits
- ChatGPT (OpenAI): 5.3 billion visits
- Google Gemini: 1.14 billion visits
- Anthropic’s Claude: 967.9 million visits
- Canva: 759.8 million visits
- Google Translate: 343 million visits
- DeepSeek (China): 318.8 million visits
- Grok (xAI): 189.9 million visits
Character-Based AI and Other Tools
Character AI platforms also attracted substantial traffic, with JanitorAI receiving 173.2 million visits and Character AI 165.5 million. Together, these platforms surpassed the combined visits of Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot (233.4 million).
Other notable AI tools in the top 15 include Notion (110.6 million), Zoom (96.2 million), and music-generation platform Suno (81.8 million).
Global AI Ecosystem Insights
Non-US platforms in the top 15 were Canva from Australia, DeepSeek from China, and Spain’s Magnific, an AI image upscaling tool from Freepik. Despite Google's extensive digital ecosystem, its AI platforms—Gemini and Google Translate—combined for 1.48 billion visits, less than a third of ChatGPT’s traffic.
