A student from Chuka University has been arraigned at Milimani Law Courts for allegedly making offensive remarks about President William Ruto and members of his family on social media.
The incident traces back to a TikTok video posted on June 25, 2026, where the accused, Hesbon Mauti Thomas, is said to have made disparaging comments targeting President Ruto, his son George, and one of his daughters.
During his court appearance on Friday morning, Thomas denied the charges, pleading not guilty. The magistrate subsequently released him on a KSh 5,000 cash bail.
