The quarter-final lineup for the 2026 Dala 7s rugby tournament was finalized on Saturday following the conclusion of the pool stages in Kisumu.
Eight teams secured places in the knockout rounds, with defending champions KCB Rugby, Menengai Oilers, Mwamba RFC, and Kabras Sugar RFC having already qualified by winning their first two pool matches.
The final four spots were claimed by Zetech Oaks, Kenya Harlequins, Daystar Falcons, and Strathmore Leos after intense battles in the last round of pool fixtures.
Pool Stage Highlights
- Pool A: KCB Rugby topped the group with eight points despite a 19-19 draw against MMUST Rugby Club, thanks to a late try by George Ooro. Zetech Oaks edged Impala RFC 19-14 to take second place, eliminating Impala from the competition.
- Pool B: Menengai Oilers maintained a perfect record with a 26-0 win over Mombasa Rugby Club, finishing with nine points. Kenya Harlequins secured the second qualifying spot by defeating Blak Blad 26-7.
- Pool C: Mwamba RFC completed a flawless run with a 26-17 victory against hosts Kisumu RFC, topping the group with nine points. Daystar Falcons clinched the remaining quarter-final berth by beating Nondescripts RFC 12-7.
- Pool D: Kabras Sugar RFC dominated with a 33-0 win over Nakuru RFC, finishing the pool undefeated. Strathmore Leos took second place after a commanding 53-0 victory against Embu RFC.
