Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have apprehended Dennis Macharia, known as Mahua, in connection with an armed robbery at a salon in Siaka, Nairobi.

The incident occurred on 26 July 2026 when Macharia and an accomplice entered the salon where a women’s chama meeting was taking place. Armed with a pistol, the suspects stole KSh 50,000 in cash along with several mobile phones from attendees.

Following an intelligence-led operation, Macharia was arrested in the Korogocho area by officers from Kayole Police Station. Investigators recovered a motorcycle, registration KMDE 473B, believed to have been used in the crime, as well as two knives. These items have been secured as evidence for prosecution.
