The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has apprehended a man suspected of orchestrating a Ksh12 million land fraud in Nairobi's prestigious Muthaiga area.
The arrest, announced on August 4, 2026, followed an intelligence-driven operation by detectives from the DCI Headquarters Land Fraud Investigations Unit (LFIU) in Westlands. The unit had been investigating irregularities concerning the ownership of a one-acre plot along Mua Park Road after a complaint was lodged with Starehe detectives.
Investigations Uncover Ownership Dispute
Following the initial inquiry, the LFIU took over the case to conduct a thorough examination of the property’s ownership documents. Preliminary findings suggest the use of questionable documentation, which is now under forensic scrutiny.
Case Submitted to ODPP
Upon concluding the investigations, the DCI forwarded the case file to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP). The ODPP reviewed the evidence, established a prima facie case, and approved charges against the suspect, who is currently being processed ahead of court proceedings.
The DCI reaffirmed its dedication to combating land fraud and protecting property rights nationwide. The agency also encouraged the public to report any suspected land-related offenses via official channels.
