The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has detained an individual suspected of impersonating a police officer following a swift operation at a Kilimani casino in Nairobi.
Responding to a distress call, detectives intercepted the suspect inside a vehicle, uncovering a CZ 75 SP-01 pistol, an empty 9mm magazine, handcuffs, and counterfeit police identification documents, including a fake Certificate of Appointment and firearm certificate.
Further investigation led officers to a rented residence in Waluku Village, Dagoretti North, where 100 rounds of 9mm ammunition were recovered, stored in two boxes.
Ongoing Investigations
The suspect remains in custody as the DCI probes the origins of the firearm and ammunition, alongside the scope of the alleged impersonation.
Authorities have secured all recovered items as evidence and are intensifying efforts to uncover any additional criminal involvement.
The DCI continues to encourage the public to report suspicious activities through its toll-free hotline and anonymous channels.
