Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have dismantled an illegal cannabis cultivation site in Kajiado County, recovering close to 79 kilograms of suspected cannabis sativa. The seized drugs are estimated to be worth approximately Ksh2.37 million.
The operation was carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) in collaboration with officers from Ololua Police Station, following credible intelligence about the illicit farm's location.
Details of the operation
- Investigators acted on verified information and raided the site while the cannabis plants were still growing.
- Officers secured the area and uprooted the illegal plants to prevent further cultivation.
- A total of 78.98 kilograms of suspected cannabis was confiscated, packed into five sacks.
- The street value of the seized narcotics is estimated at Ksh2,369,000, marking one of the largest recent drug busts in the region.
