Tottenham Hotspur head coach Roberto De Zerbi has revealed uncertainty about the future of Brazilian forward Richarlison at the club, following the striker's crucial contributions during the pre-season tour.
The 29-year-old, who scored a last-minute winner against Chelsea in Sydney and netted in a 2-0 victory over Auckland FC, remains a vital player for Spurs. However, De Zerbi acknowledged that Richarlison has given mixed indications regarding his desire to stay at the club.
Speaking after the Chelsea match, De Zerbi said, "I don't know. Sometimes he says he wants to stay, sometimes he says he wants to leave. We have to talk. There is no problem."
The coach praised Richarlison's attitude and professionalism, stating, "His behaviour and work ethic are unbelievable. He is a lovely guy, loved by teammates, staff, and the club."
Richarlison, who scored 12 goals last season and is entering the final year of his contract, has become a key figure for Spurs despite the club's struggles, finishing 17th in the Premier League last term.
Tottenham have been active in the transfer market this summer but have yet to finalize a new striker. De Zerbi has reportedly been linked with Manchester City forward Savinho as the club looks to strengthen its attacking options.
With Richarlison's future still undecided, Spurs face a crucial period in negotiations as they aim to build a competitive squad ahead of the new season.
