Speaking at a public event on Sunday, August 2, 2026, Kindiki criticized politicians who oppose equal treatment for all ethnic groups, accusing them of using insults and ethnic incitement to undermine President William Ruto and destabilize the country.
Condemning divisive rhetoric
Kindiki highlighted that inflammatory language is being used by some leaders to create hostility and disrupt peace. He declared the era of tribalism and divisive politics is ending, urging citizens to reject leaders who exploit ethnic differences for political gain.
He stated, "Those who resist equality among Kenya’s diverse communities are the same ones confronting the President with insults, hatred, tribalism, and reckless statements aimed at inciting the public and threatening our nation’s peace."

The Deputy President called on all leaders to prioritize unity, development, and peaceful coexistence, stressing that Kenya’s advancement depends on collaboration across ethnic and political lines.
His remarks come amid rising political tensions ahead of the 2027 General Election, with authorities warning against hate speech and ethnic mobilization. Security agencies have pledged action against those threatening national cohesion.
