Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has criticized the opposition's efforts to unite behind a single presidential candidate, particularly targeting Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka. Speaking in Irunduni, Tharaka Nithi County, Kindiki challenged the credibility of opposition leaders seeking to replace President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election.

He argued that those advocating for a "one-term" agenda have failed to deliver tangible development during their decades in government. "The people they are proposing have held powerful government positions for over 50 years, yet they have not brought meaningful development here," Kindiki said, highlighting the absence of basic infrastructure such as tarmac roads in their own constituencies.

Kindiki further accused opposition politicians of neglecting the Mt Kenya region during their time in office and attempting to incite residents against the Kenya Kwanza administration. He urged the public to focus on the current government's ongoing infrastructure projects that are transforming the region.

Defending the Kenya Kwanza coalition, Kindiki expressed confidence that its development agenda would secure victory in the upcoming elections. He dismissed political attacks from rivals, emphasizing his resilience and commitment to justice and equality.

"If you have done nothing for more than 50 years, you cannot now ask this administration to leave government so that you can take over," he stated, calling for patience and respect among leaders and citizens alike.
