Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has arrived in Entebbe, Uganda, to represent Kenya at the 2nd Extra-Ordinary Summit of the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).
Speaking on social media, Deputy President Kindiki confirmed his attendance on behalf of President William Ruto.
"Arrived in Entebbe, Uganda, to represent Kenya during the 2nd Extra-Ordinary Summit of the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) on behalf of President William Ruto," he stated.
Summit Focus
The summit convenes regional leaders and stakeholders to assess the African Union's efforts in supporting Somalia's security and stabilisation. Key agenda items include reviewing the security situation in Somalia, discussing the future direction of the AUSSOM mission, and evaluating operational and financial aspects.
Kenya, as a contributor of troops to the mission, plays a significant role in these deliberations. The meeting aims to strengthen the collective regional commitment to Somalia's security transition.
