Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has traveled to Entebbe, Uganda, to represent President William Ruto at the 2nd Extra-Ordinary Summit of the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).
The summit focuses on the future of the AU peacekeeping mission in Somalia, which supports the country's Federal Government in stabilisation efforts and combating the Al-Shabaab insurgency.
Kindiki arrived on Friday, 31 July, and was welcomed by Kenya's High Commissioner to Uganda, Ababu Namwamba. He was accompanied by a delegation led by Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya, reflecting Kenya's commitment to the mission.
