Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has emphasized that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) continues to enjoy broad national support and remains inclusive to all Kenyans regardless of tribe, religion, or region.
Speaking in Maralal, Samburu County, Kindiki, who is also UDA’s Deputy Party Leader, welcomed former Jubilee Party officials who recently joined UDA ahead of the 2027 general elections. He stressed that under President William Ruto's leadership, the party has prioritized equitable development, including in historically marginalized areas.
Defections Strengthen UDA's Position
- Notable defectors include Jubilee Women League Chairperson Maison Leshoomo, former Samburu North MP Alois Lentoimaga, several MCAs, and former Governor Moses Lenolkulal.
- Kindiki assured new members of fair treatment and stated that party nominations will be competitive and decided by voters.
- He highlighted that all parties backing President Ruto will collaborate to secure his re-election.
Development Initiatives in Samburu
Kindiki pointed out the government's investment in Samburu County, citing ongoing projects such as the tarmacking of the Maralal-Morijo-Baragoi-South Horr-Loiyangalani road and construction of modern markets and affordable housing units.
He noted that prior to President Ruto's administration, there were no allocations for road tarmacking in the county, but now hundreds of kilometres are under construction.
