Authorities in Uasin Gishu County are actively searching for a hospital cleaner suspected of sexually assaulting a minor at a private medical facility in Eldoret.

The incident reportedly took place on July 21, 2026, at Living Room International Hospital along Eldoret-Kaptagat Road. The victim, a minor undergoing treatment, was allegedly attacked while using the hospital washroom after providing a stool sample.

Ainabkoi Police Commander Charles Getende confirmed that the suspect, who has been employed at the hospital for about ten years, has since absconded. Investigations traced the last known mobile phone signal of the cleaner to Kitale Town in Trans Nzoia County.

Police have appealed to the public to assist by sharing any information that could lead to the suspect’s arrest.

The victim’s family expressed that the assault has caused significant trauma, disrupting the minor’s ability to continue with normal schooling.

When approached for comment, Living Room International Hospital’s director, Titus Boit, declined to discuss the case, citing ongoing police investigations.
