New details have emerged surrounding the death of 30-year-old Kennedy N'geno, who was fatally stabbed following a road rage incident near Nyayo National Stadium.
N'geno had traveled from his rural home in Roret, Kericho County, on Friday. After visiting family in Uthiru and socializing, he was heading towards Pipeline separately from his cousin and friends.
The incident occurred on Mombasa Road after a minor collision involving their vehicle and an online taxi driver. The taxi driver reportedly rammed their car from behind, forcing them to stop and assess the damage.
According to relatives, the taxi driver became aggressive, approached their vehicle, and smashed the windscreen. The family attempted to leave but stopped again after informing N'geno of the confrontation.
Upon arrival, N'geno engaged the taxi driver in an argument. The suspect then allegedly pulled out a knife, stabbed N'geno, and fled the scene. Another individual was also injured during the altercation.
The injured were initially taken to Mbagathi Hospital but were referred to Kenyatta National Hospital, where N'geno was pronounced dead despite medical efforts.
Police have identified the suspect's vehicle and obtained his details from the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA). Makadara OCPD Judith Nyongesa confirmed investigations are ongoing to apprehend the suspect.
Friends and family have gathered to identify N'geno's body and make funeral arrangements while calling for justice in the case.
