On Wednesday, violent winds reaching speeds of up to 75 mph struck Rio, leading to the collapse of a wall at a historic mansion in the Santa Teresa district. Tassio, who was working at the site, was tragically killed alongside a colleague, Vandre Cordeiro, among five total fatalities reported.

Botafogo, the Serie A club where Tassio played in 2015, issued a statement expressing their sorrow. The club extended condolences to his family and all who knew him, highlighting his contributions during his time with the team.
