Close to 2,000 people attended the funeral service in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, on Tuesday for a woman and her two daughters who were murdered in their Bedford, England home last month.
The deceased, Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, aged 42, and her daughters Natalie, 15, and Nala, 5, were laid to rest in their hometown after their bodies were repatriated from the UK.
Their husband and father, Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, a British citizen of Zimbabwean descent, was arrested in South Africa on July 10 and is currently facing extradition proceedings.
The funeral service, marked by emotional tension, saw participation from both families, with some relatives expressing discomfort over the extensive media coverage surrounding the case.
Ntsika Dakamela, the uncle of the deceased woman, criticized the media attention, stating it lacked sensitivity towards the grieving families. Meanwhile, relatives of the suspect acknowledged the difficult time both families are enduring.
The bodies were discovered in early July at the family’s £1.3 million home located in an affluent Bedford suburb.
