Manchester United defender Gabby George is nearing a transfer to Brighton Women ahead of the upcoming Women's Super League (WSL) season. The 29-year-old, who has made over 50 appearances for United, is reportedly seeking more consistent first-team opportunities.

Brighton are expected to pay a six-figure fee to secure George's services. The defender joined Manchester United in 2023 after progressing through Everton's ranks, where she made more than 100 appearances. At United, she won the Women's FA Cup in 2024 and earned three senior caps for England.

Brighton, coached by Dario Vidosic, have been active in the transfer market this summer, also signing Switzerland captain Lia Walti and Norwegian midfielder Emilie Joramo. These additions highlight the club's intent to improve on last season's seventh-place finish in the WSL.
