Vocalize Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua has accused two police officers from Kikuyu Police Station of being paid to assassinate him, former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
Speaking at his Wamunyoro home during a meeting with Murang’a County leaders, Gachagua said he received the information from officers stationed at Kikuyu Police Station. He alleged the two officers were responsible for an assassination plot targeting the three politicians during a political rally in Kikuyu earlier this year.
Gachagua further claimed that Director of Criminal Investigations Mohamed Amin has shielded the implicated officers, despite multiple investigations.

- He linked the same officers to the killings of Kyalo Mbobu and Dr. Victoria Mutiso over land disputes.
- Gachagua accused the National Police Service of ethnic bias, stating key positions in Nairobi are dominated by officers from President William Ruto’s community.
- He also criticized Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen, alleging misuse of the police for political purposes and claimed some officers reported being forced to collaborate with criminal elements.
These claims highlight ongoing tensions within Kenya’s security services and raise concerns about politicization and ethnic divisions in law enforcement agencies.
