Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua has called on voters in Laikipia County to reject the re-election bids of Woman Representative Jane Kagiri and Laikipia North MP Sarah Korere.
Speaking at a DCP rally in Nanyuki Town on August 1, 2026, Gachagua urged supporters to deny Kagiri a second term, emphasizing that she should serve only one term in office. His remarks were met with chants from the crowd backing his call.
Targeting Kagiri and Korere
Gachagua also addressed members of the Kikuyu community, urging them not to support Sarah Korere in the forthcoming elections. He insisted that Korere should not receive any votes from the Kikuyu electorate in Laikipia North.
His comments came amid efforts to bolster DCP's grassroots presence ahead of the 2027 General Election, with the party intensifying mobilisation activities across the Mt Kenya region.
