Gilbert Selebwa has been appointed as the new head coach of Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA) with a clear objective: to secure promotion to the Kenya Premier League for the 2027/28 season.

Unveiled on Thursday evening, Selebwa expressed optimism about the club's potential, emphasizing the strong foundation laid by Kenyan football star Michael Olunga. "It would be a great pleasure to see Michael Olunga's project succeed," Selebwa stated, highlighting his commitment to advancing the team to the top tier.

Known across East Africa as a specialist in elevating clubs from the National Super League, Selebwa brings a wealth of experience to MOFA. His previous successes include guiding AFC Leopards, Shabana FC, and Mombasa United to promotion. "This will not be the first team I have guided from the National Super League to the Premier League," he said, confident MOFA can become his fourth promotion success.

Selebwa also praised MOFA's professional setup, noting the club’s strong infrastructure and financial stability as key advantages. "The organisation here is outstanding," he remarked, citing the club’s facilities, communication systems, and accessible training grounds as factors that will support a smooth campaign.

Holding a CAF A Licence and with coaching experience that includes managing Vihiga United, the US-trained tactician is preparing MOFA for the upcoming National Super League season with high hopes.
