The government has launched applications for 350 internship positions under the Presidential Digital Talent Programme (PDTP) for the 2026/2027 Cohort XI. This initiative, managed by the ICT Authority, targets recent university graduates in ICT-related fields to gain hands-on experience and mentorship over a 12-month period.
Programme Overview
The PDTP aims to equip young professionals with practical skills and professional networks by placing them in various public and private sector institutions. This latest intake follows the previous recruitment of 400 interns announced in August 2025.
Available Positions
- Network and Digital Infrastructure: 150 positions
- Software Development and Artificial Intelligence: 100 positions
- Information Security: 50 positions

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be Kenyan citizens aged 21 to 29, currently unemployed, and have graduated within the last two years (from January 2024) with a First or Second-Class Honours (Upper Division) degree or equivalent in ICT or related engineering fields. Those expecting to graduate by December 2026 may also apply with a university recommendation letter confirming their expected honours classification.
Eligible disciplines include Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, and similar fields. Candidates should demonstrate relevant knowledge and may be required to complete technical assessments. Previous participation in government internship programmes disqualifies applicants.
Application Process
Interested candidates must submit their applications online via the official DigiTalent portal, uploading all required documents. Incomplete submissions will not be considered. The application window closes at midnight on Monday, September 7, 2026.
Successful interns will be expected to work full-time from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in various government ministries, agencies, corporations, or county institutions across Kenya’s 47 counties.
The programme encourages applications from female candidates, persons with disabilities, and graduates from Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) regions. Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for interviews.
