The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) has issued a tender calling for suppliers to provide and install two high-performance computing servers at its Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC) in Nairobi.
This procurement is part of the Food Systems Resilience Program for Eastern and Southern Africa Phase I, funded by the World Bank through an International Development Association grant.
Details of the Tender
- Two server units are required: a CPU-based high-performance server and a GPU-based artificial intelligence computing server.
- Both servers will be delivered, installed, and commissioned at ICPAC, located along Ngong Town Kibiko A Road near KIHBT, Nairobi.
- Each server represents a separate contract lot under reference DJ-IGAD-560737-GO-RFB.
- Suppliers must complete delivery within two months of contract signing.
- No bidder preference margins will be applied.
Purpose and Impact
The servers will enhance Digital Agro-Climate Advisory Services, a key element in strengthening food security across Eastern and Southern Africa by leveraging climate data and AI technologies.
