Jack Grealish has addressed speculation surrounding his exclusion from Manchester City's pre-season tour to Hong Kong and Seoul. The 30-year-old winger, who has been sidelined since undergoing foot surgery in February, emphasized that his absence is due to recovery rather than being overlooked by the club's management.
Grealish, who joined Manchester City in 2021 for a reported £100 million, responded directly on social media, dismissing rumors of a snub. "Just to let you know I'm still recovering from an injury so I'm not training yet," he stated in a now-deleted Instagram comment. "Haven't been 'left out' so stop talking poo poo thanks."
Despite a strong start at City which included three Premier League titles and a treble in the 2022-23 season, Grealish's standing changed amid reports of off-field issues, leading to a loan move to Everton last season. Currently, he is focusing on rehabilitation to regain fitness and compete for a place under the new manager, Enzo Maresca.
Maesca has expressed a positive relationship with Grealish, highlighting his character and commitment. "At the moment, he is here. I have a good relationship with Jack since I left. Also, we keep in touch, and the reason why is because he has a big heart and he is a very good guy," the manager said.
Grealish is in the final year of his contract with Manchester City as he aims to re-establish himself in the squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
