Sirisia MP John Waluke has announced his unwavering support for Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi's 2027 campaign for the Bungoma gubernatorial seat. Waluke emphasized that Wanyonyi's political party or any association with Senator Edwin Sifuna's Linda Mwananchi movement will not affect his endorsement.
In a widely shared video, Waluke called on Bungoma residents to look beyond party politics and focus on Wanyonyi's proven leadership and development record. He described Wanyonyi as a candidate with a clear agenda to transform Bungoma and lead the county towards progress.
Support Based on Leadership and Development Agenda
Waluke highlighted Wanyonyi's legal background and experience as a legislator, noting these qualities make him well-equipped to govern Bungoma effectively. He expressed confidence that Wanyonyi would prioritize development initiatives and bring meaningful change if elected.
"Tim is a lawyer by profession and a development-conscious MP who will be a development-focused governor for Bungoma, Inshallah," Waluke stated. He urged residents to stand firmly behind Wanyonyi regardless of political dynamics, emphasizing the importance of unity in driving the county's progress.
Party Affiliation Should Not Define Voter Choice
Waluke argued that voters should not be swayed by party names or political movements, but rather by the candidate’s ability to deliver results. He encouraged Bungoma citizens to prioritize the county’s development needs over partisan considerations.
Additionally, Waluke pointed to Wanyonyi’s international connections, suggesting these networks could attract investment and development opportunities beneficial to Bungoma.

This endorsement marks a notable shift from Waluke’s previous hardline position, where he opposed the Linda Mwananchi movement's activities in Bungoma. As chairperson of the Western MPs caucus, Waluke had earlier warned against opposition campaigns in the region but has now pivoted to back Wanyonyi unconditionally.
