Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has declared that the sole occasion he will engage President William Ruto is during the general elections scheduled for August 10, 2027. Speaking at a rally in Samburu County on August 1, 2026, Kalonzo dismissed any calls for pre-election political talks with the president.
"The discussions I want to have with Ruto will happen this election year. We will talk by voting him out first," Kalonzo stated emphatically.
Push for One-Term Presidency
During the rally, Kalonzo urged Kenyans to support the opposition's campaign to limit President Ruto to a single term. He framed the 2027 polls as the decisive moment to resolve debates about the president's tenure.
