The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a partial, month-long closure on Mombasa Road (A8) near the Highway Educational Complex by Bellevue. The closure will facilitate the construction of a box culvert.
The affected section will be closed intermittently on both carriageways starting Monday, August 10, 2026, until Monday, September 14, 2026. To ease traffic flow, two lanes will remain open alternately throughout the construction period.
KeNHA advises motorists to:
- Follow the designated traffic management plan.
- Cooperate with police officers and traffic marshals stationed at the site.
Normal traffic operations will resume once the construction is complete.
Previous Road Works on Emali-Isineti Road
Earlier, KeNHA had notified the public about a partial closure on the Emali-Isineti (A5) Road near Simba Cement to allow installation of a drainage culvert. This closure ran from July 24 to August 13, 2026, with traffic diverted through a temporary single-lane route to minimise disruption.
These infrastructure improvements are part of KeNHA's ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and drainage, particularly during heavy rains.
