The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a 36-day partial closure on Mombasa Road near the Highway Educational Complex at Bellevue to facilitate construction works.
Starting Monday, August 10, 2026, until Monday, September 14, 2026, sections of both carriageways on this key highway (A8) will be temporarily and alternately closed. This is to allow for the building of a box culvert while keeping parts of the road operational.
KeNHA stated that motorists will use the remaining two lanes interchangeably during the construction period to minimise traffic disruptions. Drivers are urged to follow the traffic management plan and cooperate with police officers and traffic marshals stationed along the route.
To ensure safety and smooth traffic flow, road users are advised to be cautious, adhere to directions from marshals, and allocate extra time for their journeys while the works are ongoing.
The authority reassured the public that normal traffic operations will resume once the construction is complete.
