Kenya Airways has reported a tyre burst incident involving flight KQ784 shortly after it landed at Cape Town International Airport on 4 August 2026.

The aircraft, operating the Nairobi to Cape Town route, touched down around 15:30 local time when the tyre failure occurred. All passengers and crew were promptly evacuated without any injuries and escorted safely to the terminal building.

Following the incident, Kenya Airways cancelled the return flight KQ785 to allow engineers sufficient time to assess and repair the damaged aircraft before it could resume service.

The airline issued a statement expressing regret over the disruption and thanked customers for their understanding and support, as well as acknowledging the professionalism of the crew.
