The forecast indicates a mix of partly cloudy skies, sunny intervals, light showers, and localized thunderstorms, with rainfall activity expected to intensify during afternoon and evening hours, especially in highland and lake-adjacent areas.

Cool and Cloudy Conditions in Other Counties

Counties such as Nairobi, Kiambu, Laikipia, Tharaka-Nithi, Kitui, Makueni, and Kajiado are expected to experience cool and cloudy weather without significant rainfall during the same period.

Strong Winds to Affect Coastal and Northern Counties

KMD has issued a wind advisory for strong southerly winds exceeding 25 knots affecting a broad swath of counties from northern to coastal Kenya. The counties under the advisory include:

Temperature Outlook

Temperature patterns remain consistent with early August seasonal norms, with cooler daytime highs in elevated areas such as Kericho, Bomet, and the Nyandarua highlands, and warmer temperatures in lower-lying counties like Busia, Siaya, and Kisumu.

Residents in the affected counties are advised to prepare for wet conditions and exercise caution due to strong winds in the flagged regions.
