Kenya's Teresia Gateri, Naomi Korir, and Rosemary Longisa have all advanced to the women's one-mile final at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Gateri, who won the World Under-20 championship in 2021, led a competitive Heat One with a time of 4 minutes 33.11 seconds, narrowly defeating Great Britain's Jessica Hull, who finished in 4 minutes 34.20 seconds.
In Heat Two, Naomi Korir, a former World Mixed Relay silver medallist, secured fourth place with a time of 4 minutes 31.80 seconds. Rosemary Longisa, the NCAA 1500m champion, finished fifth in 4 minutes 32.02 seconds. Both athletes qualified for the final scheduled for Saturday at Scotstoun Stadium.
