Kenyan travelers have expanded opportunities for visa-free and visa-on-arrival entry to 77 destinations worldwide, according to the latest Passport Index report. The Kenyan passport ranks 64th globally, offering a Mobility Score of 77.

Visa-Free and Visa-on-Arrival Access

Kenyan passport holders can enter 37 countries without a visa and obtain visas on arrival in 35 others. Additionally, five destinations permit entry via electronic travel authorisation (eTA). Overall, Kenyan travelers enjoy visa-free or simplified entry to nearly 39% of global destinations.

Key Visa-Free Destinations

  • Asia-Pacific: The Philippines allows Kenyans to stay visa-free for up to 30 days. Other visa-free countries include Hong Kong (90 days), Fiji (120 days), Kiribati (90 days), Micronesia (30 days), and Vanuatu (120 days).
  • Caribbean and Americas: Visa-free access is granted to Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica (180 days each), Bahamas, Grenada, Haiti, St. Vincent and the Grenadines (90 days each), Cuba (90 days), Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago (unrestricted).
  • Africa: The largest number of visa-free destinations lie within Africa, reflecting regional agreements and Kenya's diplomatic ties. Countries include Benin, Botswana, Burundi, The Gambia, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, mostly allowing 90-day stays. Ethiopia offers the longest visa-free stay at 360 days, Rwanda 180 days, while Eritrea and South Sudan offer unrestricted entry. South Africa also permits a 90-day visa-free visit.

Visa-on-Arrival and eTA Destinations

Kenyans can obtain visas on arrival or eTAs for countries such as Ghana (eTA, 60 days), Comoros (45 days), Democratic Republic of Congo (7 days), Sudan (30 days), Nepal (up to 150 days), and Gulf and Southeast Asian nations including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Jordan.

Countries Still Requiring Advance Visas

Major global economies like the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, most European Union countries, Japan, China, and Australia continue to require Kenyans to secure visas prior to travel.
