The Kenyatta Trust runs the Tuungane Mentorship Program, a targeted initiative aimed at students benefiting from its Academic Scholarships Program. The mentorship scheme is designed to provide guidance, career development, and leadership skill-building opportunities to scholars from financially disadvantaged families across Kenya.
Program Highlights
- Executive Mentorship: University-level scholars are paired with senior professionals for two years, focusing on goal setting, soft skills, talent development, and access to internships and employment networks.
- Peer Mentorship: A shorter track emphasizing self-awareness and personal accountability among peers.

Eligibility and Application Process
Access to Tuungane is limited to students already admitted into the Kenyatta Trust Academic Scholarships Program, which targets learners from all 47 counties who demonstrate strong academic performance—typically around 370 marks in KCPE or equivalent. However, academic results alone are not enough; the selection process also considers financial need, leadership potential, community service, integrity, and discipline.
Shortlisted candidates undergo interviews and background checks. Successful applicants receive comprehensive support including school fees, learning materials, counselling, career advice, and full access to the mentorship program.
