Kiambu Court Grants Mukurwe-ini MP John Kaguchia Ksh100,000 Police Bail

The Kiambu High Court has ordered the release of Mukurwe-ini Member of Parliament John Philip Gichohi Kaguchia on a police cash bail of Ksh100,000.

Kaguchia filed a petition against the Inspector General of Police, the Director of Public Prosecutions, and another party shortly after his arrest earlier on Monday, August 3, 2026.

Justice Njoki Mwangi directed that the MP be freed immediately upon payment of the bail, pending the hearing and determination of his application.

Court Order:

• "The applicant (MP Kaguchia) shall be released forthwith from police custody upon deposit of police cash bail in the sum of Ksh100,000," ruled Justice Mwangi.
