The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has introduced an electronic certificate platform allowing candidates who sat the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams to access their certificates digitally.
This service also extends to candidates with certificates in KNEC's database dating back to 1989. The new system enables users to download an official digital version of their certificates after verifying their identity and completing payment.

How to Access the Digital Certificate
Candidates must register on the KNEC e-certificate portal and verify their email via a one-time password. They then confirm their identity using their National ID details and input their KCSE index number, exam year, and type to preview the certificate.
Once the details are confirmed accurate, users pay a fee of Ksh1,500 through the eCitizen platform before downloading the certificate. The document is also emailed to the candidate and stored on their online dashboard for future access.
