Introduction

Koitaleel Samoei University College (KSUC) is a public constituent college of the University of Nairobi, located in Mosoriot along the Eldoret–Kapsabet Road in Nandi County. Established in 2018, the institution honors the Nandi hero Koitaleel Arap Samoei and serves as the first public university in Nandi County.

Academic Programmes

KSUC offers a wide range of accredited programmes including undergraduate degrees, postgraduate degrees, diplomas, and professional certifications. Courses span fields such as Education, Commerce, Sciences, and Project Planning. Notable programmes include:

  • Bachelor of Education (Arts, Science, Early Childhood Education)
  • Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce
  • Bachelor of Science in Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and Finance
  • Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and Education (M.Ed)
  • Professional courses such as CPA, ATD, and Certified Secretaries

Admissions and Entry Requirements

Applicants must have a minimum KCSE mean grade of C+ with at least a C+ in English or Kiswahili and relevant subjects to qualify for degree courses. Government-sponsored students apply through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), while self-sponsored and transfer students can apply directly to KSUC.

Fee Structure and Payment

Tuition fees vary by programme and study level. Prospective students are advised to verify current fees on the official KSUC website. Payments can be made via cash deposit, electronic funds transfer, or RTGS to the university’s designated bank account. Additional expenses include registration, accommodation, library, medical, and student activity fees. Eligible students may apply for financial aid through the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).

Facilities and Infrastructure

KSUC is developing infrastructure to support its growing student population, including a six-storey administration block, lecture halls, and an OlympAfrica Youth Centre in partnership with the National Olympic Committee of Kenya. Current facilities include:

  • Library and ICT Centre
  • Student accommodation
  • On-campus medical services

Long-term plans include establishing seven campuses across Nandi County and a teaching hospital.
