The Linda Mwananchi brigade has officially informed the National Police Service about its upcoming political rally scheduled for August 16, 2026, in Homa Bay County. This event forms part of the group's broader nationwide campaign efforts.
The faction is spearheaded by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Siaya Governor James Orengo, and Embakasi MP Babu Owino. Their Homa Bay coordinator, Samwel Nyauke, submitted the notification to County Police Commander Lawrence Koilem, who acknowledged receipt.
Nyauke urged supporters to maintain peace and refrain from violence to facilitate smooth security operations during the rally. Clifford Obiero, a Linda Mwananchi member, confirmed police commitments to enhanced security measures and called on attendees to respect peaceful conduct irrespective of political differences.
Commander Koilem reassured the brigade of maximum security deployment and warned against any violent acts that could disrupt the event.
