The Linda Mwananchi political movement has reported a significant boost in its fundraising efforts, collecting KSh 2,850,711.28 in a single day through its PayBill platform. This surge contributed to a total of KSh 8,704,770.38 raised since the campaign's launch.

The dramatic increase, representing a 689.5% rise compared to the previous day, coincided with a KSh 100 donation challenge aimed at encouraging widespread participation from ordinary Kenyans. Since the PayBill service went live, the movement has received 170,986 confirmed contributions.

Fundraising Growth and Goals

Earlier figures showed the movement had raised just over KSh 2.2 million within 36 hours of launching the PayBill, highlighting rapid growth in public support. Contributors use PayBill number 3033049, entering their registered phone number as the account number.

Funds collected will be directed towards citizen mobilisation, voter readiness verification, and sustained civic engagement ahead of Kenya's 2027 general election. Linda Mwananchi positions itself as a third political force, distinct from traditional parties, aiming to build an independent base to challenge established political structures.

The movement has openly criticised the current administration under President William Ruto and seeks to use these funds to enhance political accountability and grassroots participation.

Looking Ahead

The fundraising momentum indicates growing traction among Kenyans interested in supporting alternative political platforms. However, the true measure of this support will become clearer as the 2027 election campaigns intensify.
