Argentine forward Lionel Messi has resumed training with his Major League Soccer club, Inter Miami, after a 10-day break following Argentina's loss in the 2026 World Cup final.
The 39-year-old was seen alongside teammate Luis Suarez during a training session, as confirmed by a video shared on Inter Miami's social media platforms.
Messi had been resting with his family in Rosario, Argentina, after Argentina's narrow 1-0 defeat to Spain on July 19 at the New York/New Jersey Stadium. He described the loss as deeply painful, acknowledging the time needed to heal from the setback.
Inter Miami's coach, Guillermo Hoyos, also from Argentina, emphasized the need for players like Messi and fellow national teammate Rodrigo De Paul to recover from the physical and mental toll of the tournament. Both were excused from participating in the MLS All-Star Game due to the short turnaround from World Cup duties.
Messi's future with the Argentina national team remains uncertain as he has yet to announce whether he will continue international play.
Inter Miami is scheduled to face Columbus Crew on Saturday and will begin their Leagues Cup campaign against San Luis next Wednesday.
