Overview of Lukenya University

Established in 2014 and located in Mtito Andei, Makueni County, Lukenya University is a private non-profit institution accredited by the Commission for University Education (CUE). Academic Programs

The university provides undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate courses across four main schools:

Admission Requirements

  • Undergraduate degrees require a minimum KCSE grade of C+.
  • Diploma courses require at least a C- grade.
  • Certificate programs accept KCSE D (Plain) and above.
  • Specialized programs like Bachelor of Science in Nursing have specific subject grade requirements.

Fee Structure

The university is known for affordable fees compared to other private institutions. For example, full-time undergraduate tuition is KSh 50,000, while the Bachelor of Science in Nursing costs KSh 105,000. Diploma and certificate programs range between KSh 15,400 and KSh 17,600, excluding additional charges such as boarding, medical, and library fees. Postgraduate fees vary, with master's programs starting at KSh 66,000.

Accommodation

Lukenya University is residential, offering separate hostels for male and female students. Accommodation fees are KSh 8,000 and include basic amenities. Cooking inside hostels is prohibited.

Students can apply directly through the university website or seek placement via KUCCPS. Required documents include identification, KCSE results, academic transcripts, and proof of payment of a non-refundable KSh 1,000 application fee.
