Detectives from Kayole Police Station have apprehended a man suspected of involvement in an armed robbery that took place during a women's chama meeting in Nairobi on July 26.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirmed the arrest was made in Korogocho as part of ongoing intelligence-led operations targeting violent crime in the city.
Details of the Incident
Two armed individuals stormed a salon where women had gathered peacefully for their chama meeting. The attackers brandished a pistol and forced attendees to hand over valuables, including approximately Sh50,000 and several mobile phones.

The arrested suspect is currently being processed ahead of arraignment. Meanwhile, police continue to track the second suspect who remains at large.

This arrest follows other recent police successes in Nairobi, including the capture of two individuals linked to a phone-snatching syndicate operating near Gikomba. These arrests were made during routine patrols conducted by Shauri Moyo Police Station officers.
Recovered items include five mobile phones, three of which have been returned to their rightful owners after positive identification.
