A 36-year-old man identified as Samuel Charo has died following an attack by a group of dogs while exercising along the coastline in Kilifi County.
The incident took place near the shores of the Indian Ocean at Kikambala in Kilifi South Sub-County last Tuesday. Mr. Charo was reportedly attacked by approximately 15 German Shepherd dogs during his morning routine.
He sustained severe injuries and was taken to Kilifi Teaching and Referral Hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, he was later found dead at his home. Authorities believe his death resulted from the injuries sustained in the attack.
Police officers visited the attack site but did not locate the dogs or their owner, who is currently unaccounted for. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the attack are ongoing.
