Authorities are investigating the death of a 45-year-old man discovered at Kariobangi Sports Ground in Nairobi on Saturday.
The deceased, identified as Albert Wambugu, was found lying on his back with a stab wound to the right thigh. Crime Scene Investigation officers documented the scene before transferring the body to the City Mortuary for post-mortem examination.
Police have opened a murder inquiry to determine the circumstances leading to Wambugu's death and to apprehend those responsible. The motive remains unclear.
Other Recent Murders Under Investigation
- Isiolo: Paul Kimani Gitonga was found dead in Mabatini Village with facial and hand bruises, suggesting an assault prior to his death. His body was taken to Isiolo General Hospital mortuary.
- Migori: Mikwaya Herzon Ojwang, 50, was discovered with head injuries along a village road in Awendo Subcounty. He was last seen alive on July 31. His body was moved to Rosewood Nursing Home mortuary.
Police report a rise in murder cases nationwide, with approximately eight incidents recorded daily as investigations continue.
