Manchester United have given Toby Collyer the green light to pursue a permanent move away from Old Trafford this summer. The 22-year-old midfielder, who has just one year remaining on his contract, is no longer in the club’s immediate plans.
Collyer, a former Brighton academy player, has seen his position in the team diminish, especially after Tyler Fletcher rose ahead of him in the midfield pecking order. The club is also actively strengthening the defensive midfield area, having signed Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, while Kobbie Mainoo recently secured a five-year contract, further limiting Collyer’s chances.
Despite limited opportunities, Collyer made his senior debut during the 2024 Community Shield and has featured in pre-season tours, accumulating 13 appearances overall. However, he was notably excluded from the squad for the recent pre-season friendly against Atletico Madrid, signaling his uncertain future at the club.
Championship clubs have already expressed interest in signing Collyer, who is expected to leave as Manchester United reshapes its squad ahead of the new season.
