Authorities in Kiambu County have launched a search for two individuals involved in a violent attack on a couple after a road accident in Kikuyu Sub-County.
The incident took place around 5:30 a.m. at the KARLO Forest–Renguti Junction in Kerwa area. The couple’s vehicle veered off the road into a ditch on a nearby farm after the driver lost control.
Two men approached the stranded victims, initially offering help. Instead, they threatened the couple with knives, robbed them of their mobile phones, and coerced them to disclose their M-Pesa PINs. The suspects then withdrew an undisclosed sum from their accounts before fleeing the scene.
During the ordeal, one victim was gang-raped while both sustained injuries. The couple was later rescued by passersby and taken to P.C.E.A. Kikuyu Hospital for treatment.
Police, led by the Kikuyu Sub-County Criminal Investigations Officer and supported by traffic and crime scene investigators, processed the crash site and collected evidence, including empty alcohol bottles found in the vehicle.
Investigations continue as officers work to identify and apprehend the suspects.
