Former Nairobi governor and National Economic Development Party (NEDP) leader Mike Sonko has committed to sponsoring the education of Patricia, a young TikTok content creator popularly known as “Party Mbii.” This pledge follows an emotional meeting after Patricia’s persistent online efforts to connect with Sonko went viral.
Sonko expressed admiration for Patricia’s confidence and talent, noting her potential to thrive in the media industry. Although Patricia had initially hoped to find immediate employment, her responsibilities as a mother to a four-month-old breastfeeding baby make full-time work challenging.
Instead of immediate employment, Sonko announced his intention to support Patricia in pursuing formal studies in mass communication. He believes this will provide her with the professional skills necessary for a sustainable career in broadcasting.
Sonko stated: “I discovered that she is talented, confident and has great potential to excel as a media personality. We will support her in pursuing studies in mass communication so that she can nurture her talent and build a successful career.”
The meeting included NEDP representatives from Makueni County, led by Hon. Caro Mwelu, as well as Alfred Mwanzia, Ngummo Ward aspirant and CEO of Mali Ya Mungu Rescue Team, among other party officials.
Sonko wished Patricia and her child well and pledged ongoing mentorship and support as she advances her media ambitions. This initiative aligns with Sonko’s broader track record of youth empowerment through scholarships, education sponsorships, and social assistance programs aimed at vulnerable populations.
