Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) has announced 18 fully funded scholarships for Kenyan students pursuing studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines.
These scholarships, supported by financing from the African Development Fund (ADF), aim to enhance access to quality higher education and research in STEM to drive Kenya’s economic growth and employment by 2030.
Scholarship Breakdown
- Master's Scholarships (12 positions): Covering industrial engineering and management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and ICT-related fields. Thematic areas include thermo fluids and energy systems, manufacturing and materials, automation and control, environmental safety, design and simulation, and IT/ICT.
- Bachelor's Scholarships (6 positions): Linked to laboratory units such as engineering thermodynamics, advanced machining, industrial automation and robotics, design, and renewable energy technology.
Eligibility and Application Details
- Master’s candidates must be Kenyan citizens under 30 years, hold at least a second-class upper division degree, and commit to serving as graduate assistants. They are expected to proceed to PhD studies after completion.
- Bachelor’s candidates must be Kenyan citizens under 40 years, will serve as technicians or technologists, and have their tuition fully covered.
- Applications must include a cover letter stating the scholarship applied for, CV, certified academic and professional certificates, national ID or passport, testimonials, and contact information.
- Submit all documents in PDF format via email to scholarship2026@mmust.ac.ke by 5:00 pm on August 18, 2026.

All scholarship programmes are scheduled to begin in August 2026. Successful candidates will have tuition fees and research expenses fully covered for the duration of their studies under MMUST’s terms and conditions.
