A group of roughly 150 individuals armed with crude weapons forcefully entered Lagbogol Police Station in Hadado Subcounty, Wajir County, to free a 58-year-old man detained on stock theft charges.
Police officers on duty attempted to disperse the mob by firing warning shots into the air, including three rounds from a 9mm pistol. However, the crowd persisted, breaking the padlocks securing the report office and police cells before releasing the suspect. The mob then fled with the individual to an unknown location.
No injuries were reported during the incident despite the violent nature of the attack. Authorities have launched a manhunt for the escaped suspect and are investigating to identify and apprehend those involved in the assault on the police station.

Separately, two officers from Hagadera Police Station in Garissa County were injured while attempting to arrest a suspect linked to an assault case at Hagadera Refugee Camp.
