The Mombasa Kadhi’s Court has once again emerged as the leading Kadhi’s Court in Kenya, securing the top position in the Judiciary’s 2024/2025 performance rankings for courts managing over 1,000 cases.
This marks the third time the court has received national recognition, having previously topped the same category in the 2023/2024 financial year and earlier leading Kadhi’s Courts handling more than 500 cases in 2021/2022.
The Judiciary’s Performance Management and Measurement Understanding (PMMU) Evaluation Report for 2024/2025 highlights the Supreme Court and Kadhi’s Courts as the highest-performing court systems nationwide.
Strong Performance Backed by Digitisation
Chief Justice Martha Koome noted that Kadhi’s Courts achieved a performance score of 95.41%, reflecting ongoing efforts to enhance service quality for court users. She emphasized that investments in digitising and automating court processes have been vital in boosting efficiency across the Judiciary.
Commitment Amid Heavy Caseload
Senior Principal Kadhi Abdiaziz Mohamed attributed the court’s success to the dedication of judicial officers and staff who manage a demanding caseload without compromising service delivery.
“Being recognised for the third consecutive year is a testament to our unwavering commitment to serving the people of Mombasa diligently and efficiently,” Mohamed said, adding that the court remains focused on improving access to justice and reducing delays.
