Police Constable Jillo Maalim Lucas, attached to Mikindani Police Station in Mombasa, has been found dead after going missing earlier this month. His body was discovered on August 3 near Bonje shopping centre in Kilifi County, approximately 11 kilometres west of Mazeras Police Station.
PC Jillo had disappeared on August 1, triggering a search involving his colleagues and family. His remains were found wedged between two isolated shipping containers in a remote area on the outskirts of the shopping centre.
Authorities from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Jomvu, alongside Mikindani Police officers, identified the body at Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary. The officer's brother, Karhayu Jillo, was also present during the identification.
The cause of death has not been disclosed, and police have launched investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding PC Jillo's disappearance and death.
